Bird's on Wire!

We all just need to not only get, but to send cards to remind others
that we are thinking of them. Here you will see a card
where there are three birds, two of them on a black wire
and one that is flying.

I painted the background on some Strathmore Vision 140lb cold press watercolour paper using water as a base and then adding
shades of blue from my Koi Water Colors by Sakura.

I used Recolections bird dies, cutting them three times on Neenah black 65lb card-stock, and Spectrum Noir Sparkle brush, and Ranger Liquid Pearls.
I used a black (N10) Artist Loft alcohol marker to blacken some
jute for the birds to land on. I placed some fun foam to lift the card front
from the base. Placed the twine around the front of the card; taping with
plain tape on the back to hold it in place. After putting the card together I stamped it using a stamp from Hero Arts, and Permanent Black
Altenew Crisp Inks, and added some jewels to finish off the card.

Wishing you all a wonderful day.

Back to School

My grandson wanted a board for going back to school. So of course nana (that's me) made him one. Now this is the first one I ever did, and well let's say it was an adventure.  I embarked on a journey to where I had no idea.

So what do you do? You go to Pintrest. Right? I had to become a quick study. And, I think I didn't do to bad. Well, let's say for a first try it wasn't bad. It had to work....I didn't have another piece of black poster-board left.

So this is my first try at "Back to School" sign.

When my grandson saw it he said with a a strange look "I am not 5, I am 5 1/2". Then smiled and said thanks Nana. He ran off. So I guess it must have been okay because the next day.....

Moral of the story is that next year Nana will get it right!

Have a wonderful day.

One Colour Card

I needed to make a 'One Colour Card' for a card swap group,
that I thought I removed myself. I always up for a challenge
but this one made me really think. Here is my card.

Supplies

Paper: White - Neenah 110lb, Coffee colour - CraftSmith, Coffee Stained Paper - Hero Arts (September Kit)
Stamps: Hero Arts
Dies: Recolections - flourish/bird, Spellbinders - ferns
Inks: LETTERit - clear embossing ink pad
Extras: Ranger - perfect pearls (powder/liquid), Recolections - mixed media adhesive, Alcohol Markers - Artists Loft E16/Copic - YG00, Ribbon - Hero Arts (September Kit)

Equipment: CuttleBug, paper slicer (antique) and Recolections trimmer

This card took me a few days to put together and I am happy with the outcome, the only thing that I think I might change is to do the message in coffee colour.

I wish each and everyone of you a wonderful day.
